5 Ways to Use Coordinating Stamps, Dies & Stencils

Today I'm showing off how to use your coordinating stamps, dies and stencils. Coordinating stamps and dies have been around for ages but something “new” or something that is coming up more often is to also include a coordinating stencil. These bring more versatility to your stamps and dies and it is a great way to get the most out of them. Today I'm bringing your 5 different ways to use stamps, dies and stencils and show off some cards that are perfect for Valentine's Day. Disclaimer: Taylored expressions sent me the coordinating stamp, dies and stencil that I used in this video.

Stamp the background, Use as Embellishments

For this card, I began by simply stamping the Loved Background Stamp( TE ) in black ink. For the card underneath, I did the same thing but then I ink blended overtop with Catherine Pooler Inks. I die cut the colourful hearts using the Loved Cutting Plate Die( TE ) and used some of the die cuts to decorate the black and white piece. I finished up the card with a piece of vellum and the Shot Through the Heart Dies( TE ) by Taylored Expressions.

Die Cut Frame

For this card I stamped a black and white background and using my TE Blender Brushes( TE ) I blended a background using Flirty Fuchsia, Samba and Party Dress inks. Using the Loved Die, I cut out all the hearts from the background and used the frame for this card.

Outline Embossed with Blended Inside

For this card, I stamped the background using three different colours. It is important to use the Misti stamp tool for this technique. I left the cardstock in my Misti tool and cleaned off the stamp, careful not to move it. I then inked it with embossing ink, stamped directly overtop of the image and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Once the embossing was done, I used the Loved stencil and ink blended overtop of the hearts to colour them in.

Emboss Resist

For this card, I stamped the background in embossing ink and embossed in white embossing powder. I then went over the background with my blender brushes. I added the Simple Strips Stamps and Dies( TE )

Combining Techniques

For this card I combines a bit of everything – multi coloured stamping for the background, the simple trips for the sentiment, the coloured hearts as an embellishment and stencilling overtop of the lightly coloured hearts with perfect pearls.
