Today I created a DIY video tutorial on how to create a sympathy card using Beloved Daisy Stamp & Die & Mask Stencil Bundle ( ALTN ) and new inks from The Stamp Market Full Ink Collection ( THS ). I love this card because it truly pulls together the focal point of the card using the golden frames from the Altenew Fine Frames Cover Dies ( SBC | ALTN | ELH | SSS ).
In the video tutorial I cover many techniques but I think the best one is how to layer layering stamps using just ONE ink pad! Each time you stamp overtop of a previously stamped image, your image will automatically darken. You make not get the amazing contrast as three ink pads but it's pretty close!

Ideas for Writing a Sympathy Card
Sometimes you don't know what to say when someone passes away and we often fear we will write the wrong thing. There is never a perfect way to word a sympathy message during these hard times but here are some ideas on what to write in a sympathy card:
- a favourite memory or story about the person that has passed
- a poem, quote or song lyric that suits the occasion
- assure the person of a follow-up (ex. I will call you in a few days to check in or I will stop by next week) and make sure you follow through with it!
You can also write a standard sympathy message. You will find tons of ideas by using a search engine. I enjoyed the 40 heartfelt messages from lovepopcards. Here are some of my generic go-tos:
- Thinking of you during this difficult time
- I'm so sorry for the loss of _____________
- My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

Great idea and technique. Will be able to get more from my inks pads! Thank you for sharing and the card was beautiful!
Thanks so much for watching 🙂
Great video! I love all of your techniques! I didn’t know that you had moved. Where is your new craft room? Also glad to see you have a new Gemini Jr. Thanks for all the great info!
I will be doing a new craftroom tour when it’s completed and my stuff arrives from overseas. Sometime in the new year. It is a corner between the kitchen and dining room this time. It’s a great little space.
Love Altenew stamps, they layer so beautifully. Your sympathy card was great.
Me too! I have way too many of these sets but they are seriously gorgeous!
