I'm excited to be a part of another Altenew release featuring some stunning stencil. I wanted to something a little different than the usual ink blending and I had never tried out embossing with a stencil so I thought I would give it a try! In today's cards, I used the Aztec Motif and the Mega Hydrangea stencil.
This card was inspired by a monochromatic background technique that I learned in PolychromaticClass over at Altenew Academy. I wanted to create a subtle white on white detail (monochromatic) for effect on this card. This card is one of my submissions to the Altenew Educator Program which I hope to finish next month. In order to finish off the card after I embossed the background, I used the Thinking of You die and layered it using gold and black cardstock. I really wanted to create a beautiful focal point since the background is very subtle.
For my next card, I spread some Gold Glimmer Paste across the Aztec Motif stencil. I love how the gold ties into the Aztec theme and it looks so elegant. I paired it with a sentiment from the Dearest Friend stamp, a personal favourite of mine that I reach to time and time again!
To celebrate this release, I am giving away $30 on my blog! Additionally, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment here and on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Thursday, July 12th for a chance to win. 6 winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 7/15/2018.
