Watercolour Techniques + Ellen Hutson New Release!

Today I'm exploring watercolouring as a beginner. I rarely watercolour images but I feel the need to break out of my comfort zone lately. I always recommend embossing an image when you are starting out with watercolouring. When you do that, it creates barriers between the sections and requires less drying time in between and less muddy colour mixing! Today I am using the brand new release by Ellen Hutson and Julie Ebersole.

I stamped the Mondo Sakura stamp set and this beautiful cluster of flowers begs to be coloured using some kind of medium. I chose my Gansai Tambi watercolour palette. I don't have all the colours but I love my 24 pack so much and it is enough for me! I simply added colour and pulled it out further using water. When I was happy, I let it dry and continued adding layers and building up the colour.

When I was finished, I die cut the image using the coordinating dies and I used one of the sentiments in the die set and cut out the word beautiful. This is perfect size for cardmaking when you need a small image due to having a large focal point. The best part was that I got to die cut it using my new Gemini Jr die cutting machine
