Hi Crafters,
Catherine Pooler's Zen Garden release is on it's last day of blog hops and today we are featuring the Faithful Flutterings and Stained Glass Coverplate die. Yesterday, I created a separate post for the Faithful Flutterings set (you can see that here), and today I'm focusing on the cover plate. These are definitely cards that aren't difficult, but take patience. I find puzzles calming, so this was perfect for me! I did it while watching a few episodes of tv.

Comment on each of the blogs in the hop for a chance to win 1 of 2 sets of the new 8 colours of spa inks!

For this card, I embossed the Doodle Garden background stamp onto coloured cardstock and die cut it using the cover plate. I also die cut the white cardstock and used the frame. I filled in the coloured pieces onto the cardstock in random areas using pink and the full circle using green. To create the silver smile die, I embossed it in silver embossing powder three times over to create a nice, thick sentiment.

These two cards may look the same, but they aren't. I used the positive space frame of each colour and glued them onto the cardstock. The blue cardstock has a textured frame with spaces in each of the white spaces. On the pink frame, I filled in the gaps using the white pieces so it's all one layer. I added a Thanks and Smile die to the fronts.

I wanted to see how a black frame would contrast the colours and it turned out so stunning. I used leftover pieces from the green, pink and blue pieces to fill three circles. I also embossed the sentiment using some Wanderlust embossing powder.
