Distress Oxide – Fun Techniques!

Hi Crafters, I mentioned in last week's video that I would be using the Heartstrings die once again this week! I can't stop playing with Concord and 9th products. I just find their releases so unique and innovative. I thought of this technique and wanted to give it a try. I also wanted to mention that you can simplify this card and skip the embossing part, just move the heart up and down and add Distress Oxide ink and they will turn out just as lovely.

For this technique, I die cut the heart using masking paper. I stamped and embossed the Cuddles and Hugs Stamp on the bottom of the card. I covered it with masking paper and moved my cardstock down on the Misti stamping tool and stamped and embossed the same heart. Then I masked off the heart and continued stamping and embossing half of the hearts until I reached the top.

I then took the frame I cut using the heart die in order to create a frame around each heart. I distressed each colour in each heart and gently blended them together where the hearts met. My video tutorial has more tips and tricks on how to do this background. I polished off the card with the pretty Cuddles and Hugs die.

I just love this stamp and die combination so much. I couldn't resist making another fun black and white card using the same supplies as above 🙂
