Hi Crafters,
the new Distress Oxide inks are all the hype right now after Creativation 2017! I actually took part in the workshop provided by Tim Holtz and managed to snag a few of the inks to play with and I wanted to show you some projects I created PLUS a video comparing Distress Inks and Distress Oxide side-by-side. When I first saw the announcement of these inks, I figured I didn't need them, what difference could there possibly be?! After seeing them at Creativation, however, and getting the chance to play – boy was I wrong! Don't forget to keep checking back here because I will be featuring these and a giveaway for the complete set of Oxide inks in the near future 🙂

Here is a close up of the two tags I created using the EXACT SAME COLOURS in Distress Ink and Distress Oxide: Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber and Fired Brick. You can see the opacity is quite different – the oxides (pigment and dye mixture) gives the colours a milky look with clear colour on top of colour while the distress inks are more vibrant.

Here is a quick breakdown of the differences between the two inks formulas

I wanted to share what we made in class at Creativation. Most of you know me as clean and simple but I do like to get inky and grungy with mixed media when I am crafting on my own so this was also something that was right up my alley.

Not to mention I got to meet and chat with both Tim and Mario afterwards and it was such an amazing time. I can't wait until next year!
