Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

For some reason, I just love metal dies. Sure, I realize there are alternatives out there with electronic machines and digital files. However, there is something about running a die manually through a machine and picking out the different types of paper to layer together, that I just love. Putting together 3D dies, for me, is a mindful activity and I just adore the end result.

For my first card, I die cut several flowers from the Craft-a-Flower Cosmos Layering Set( ALTN ) in using two different colours of cardstock. One in pink hues and the other in peach. I layered them on top of each other and adhered them down onto the background. Placing your flowers a little off-edge makes the background look more natural. TIP: when you trim off the flowers hanging off the paper, use the leftovers to fill more white space.

One thing I like most about these flowers, is that there is an optional Cosmos Layering Die Set + Gradient Cardstock( ALTN ) with cardstock in four shades, so you can easily get die cutting!

  1. I love your beautiful cards and I love the CAF Cosmos set! The sentiment on the second card is so perfect for these times.

  2. Both cards are beautiful. I love how you showed they could be used without the stems , creating a unique card.

  3. Beautiful cards. Love the flower background on the first one – a different idea. Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration. 🙂

  4. Great cards! I wouldn’t have thought to use the yellow card base for the second card but it really works with the sentiment. Looks like the sun behind the card. Thanks for sharing!
